Tobacco Worker at Redfields circa 1920

The photograph shows a tobacco worker at Redfields, about 1920. Mr Brandon, who owned Redfields House (now St. Nicholas School) was reputed to be the main English grower of tobacco. His tobacco crops at Redfields, covering about 18 acres, included brands such as Blue Pryor (the best known), Smyrna, Burley and Green Dragon.
