Gosport Citizens Advice Bureau
Membership Information
Who are we? We are a registered Charity and a Company limited by guarantee whose aim is to supply a free, independent, confidential and impartial service of advice, information and counsel for the public.
How are we governed? We are governed by a board of Trustees/Directors most of whom are elected by our members at the Annual General Meeting and some of whom are appointed to represent organisations that are members (such as Gosport Voluntary Action).
Who can become a member? Any individual over the age of 18 years who is interested in furthering the work of the charity and who is not a paid worker of Gosport CAB.
Any corporate body or unincorporated association which is interested in furthering our work and is approved by the trustees.
Is there a fee to join? Membership is FREE although as we are a company limited by guarantee there is a requirement that, in the unlikely event that Gosport CAB were to close down and could not pay its debts, all members would be required to contribute £1 towards any wind up costs.
Why should you join? As a member you will be able to nominate Trustees or stand for election as a Trustee at General Meetings. You will also be able to speak at General Meetings and influence our priorities.
How do I join? Complete the application form, membership will commence after approval by the Trustees at their next meeting.
