4.5.2008 - Back up and Running
A short hiatus in the web site content and updating due to various factors - not least the change of site address [which you seem to have found]
15.1.2008 - Chiltern become Eclipse Archery
I am pleased to officially inform you that, following changes to the
Chiltern Archery structure the
Hampshire shop is now no longer anything to do with Chiltern, but is now run totally independently, by
Phil Collins
, as Eclipse Archery Limited.
Please inform the members of Romsey Archers of the change and ensure them of a warm welcome when they come
in.
Many things will stay the same, including the staff, the limb exchange
scheme and the free tea and coffee. Other things will change. We aim
to improve the stockholding and will try to stock the products that
local archers are asking for. We will also attempt to obtain special
orders in a timelier manner than was previously done.
12.06.2007 - A full weekend of Archery on TV
Well not quite. But it is live streaming video on the web so you can watch a tournament and the scoreboards live as it happens!!! [Multiple exclamation marks are the sure sign of a sick mind!!]
OK, so it is field archery, but it is the start of professional archery in Europe. The Cartel Classic at
Müllenborn, Germany is over the weekend of 23/24 June, has total prize money of about £8,000 - and it is on a computer near you.

8.12.2007 - Spend a summer teaching Archery in the States and get paid for it!
Camp America employs over 7,000 people every year to work and teach in summer camps. If you are able to spend the summer teaching archery in a specialist camp to children and are over 18 then they will pay you for the privilege. The idea is to
give confidence, independence, skills and a sense of self achievement to the children attending. The camps have some of the best facilities available.
If you want more information then contact Steve Adams.
7.12.2006 - Fancy Being on a TV Show?
A new adventure gameshow being made by ENDEMOL requires teams of two. They are looking for any pairing - friends, couples, colleagues - and will set them a series of challenges designed to test the teams' endurance, skill, intelligence and at times physical prowess.
The challenges are going to be unique and exciting but the great thing about them is that whether the teams competing win or lose the challenges will be an awesome experience and anyone from 18 to 80 can take part. The tasks are set to be very entertaining and they want the viewer and contestants to really take something away from this programme.
They are interested to see the team dynamics and how a team works together on the show to solve a problem and how they progress through the series of programmes. Naturally there will be a winning team and that team will receive a very special prize.
They think this show might appeal to us as they feel that the skills applied in archery could very well transpose to this show and also - it could be a lot of fun!

7.12.2006 - Stolen Bows
Four compound bows and some arrows were stolen from South Wilts AC on the afternoon of Friday 1 Dec 06. Two of the bows were Mathews Genesis 20 lb training bows. One is right handed in red without a sight; the other is left handed in purple with a sight (similar to a Cartel Junior); both have markings on them specific to SWAC. The third bow is 36lb RH compound using York laminated limbs and Hoyt energy cams. The riser is of solid design and is dark red / black. It has 'tear drop' string/cable connectors and no sight. The fourth bow is a Barnett Crusader RH 40lb in blue fitted with a blue Cartel sight. Again this bow has identification markings on it. We are concerned that these bows may be in the hands of people with no knowledge or experience of such equipment with the consequent risk of injury to people or animals. If anyone hears of or sees any of these items, please let me know. Alan White, Chairman - 0780 357 1257.

27.10.2006 - Link of the Month
I have added a "Link of the Month" to a site of archery interest. It could be funny, historical or technical: a video, photograph or article. Indeed anything that I deem worthy of bringing to your attention. The key is that it will change every month. The link will be among those down the left-hand side of all pages and November's link is there early.
20.10.2006 - GNAS Archery Fitness Project
A team of GNAS coaches are embarking on a piece of research to find out how fitness affects archery performance. They are gathering information from archers of all abilities and fitness levels via a confidential questionnaire. If you would like to help in this research which will benefit all archers and can spare 20 minutes to fill in the questionnaire then please follow the link. [You will need to know your current Classification and Handicap] Full details of the Project and those involved are on the website. GNAS Archery Fitness Project.
