OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR – TICKETS ON SALE NOW

Tickets are now on sale for our October production – “Oh! What a Lovely War” by Joan Littlewood.  This is a bittersweet take on the military and political failures of the First World War, seen through the eyes of those at the thick of the action, using popular songs of the time re-worded by front-line troops to satirise war in general.  Producer and director Alan Moorhouse has chosen this well-known piece to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the 1918 armistice.

Performances are on:

SILCHESTER PLAYERS NEEDS YOU!

On Saturday 13th September we will having a tidy up session at the hall.  This will encompass a sorting out of the under-stage and loft areas and will require a number of bodies to help.  By doing this we will make other activities for The Players much easier to carry out in the future, so everyone will benefit.  Therefore, it would be great if everyone could contribute to this!  This session should have been done in March but was not completed as not enough people came along to help, so please try and help out this time.  There might even be doughnuts!

SOCIAL EVENTS

Thanks to Andy Nicholson for organising our quiz night in June, and to Beryl and Stephen Oliver for hosting this year’s summer barbecue.  Both events were very enjoyable and much appreciated by those who attended.  Watch this space for future events such as 10 pin bowling or skittles.  If you have any suggestions for social events, please contact Andy Nicholson.
