FSID is a charity which aims to prevent cot deaths. It funds research into and disseminates information on infant health and death and supports bereaved families.

A Benefice activity morning for children with lots of activities, including gifts to make for Mum for Mothering Sunday on March 18th!

Cost: £2.00 per child and bring a plate of food to share to keep energy levels high!

We would be grateful for 'greenery' to be brought to the Church Hall from 9.00am so children may make posies for the Mothering Sunday Services.

The penultimate lunch in a series of six, where you can come and enjoy home-made soup, bread, cheese and other delights, whilst supporting charities at the same time!

This lunch is in aid of the Kathryn Mercy Home which provides board, lodging and an education for 80 deprived children in South India.

It relies almost entirely upon a network of sponsors and is undertaking a major fundraising effort to buy land adjacent to the school for much needed facilities.

Unlike most other schemes there are no hidden costs or overheads, all the money raised will go directly to the Mercy Home and make a direct and real difference to a child's life.

Sunday, 22nd Spring Charity Concert
An Evening of Musical Entertainment by talented local young musicians, including a variety of musical styles, from classical piano concertos to rhythmically contagious jazz!

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children.

All proceeds will go to Amery Hill School's designated charity for the year 2006-2007: St Norbert's Love and Care Crèche, which is located in a small township outside Cape Town, South Africa.

The aim of the crèche is to help young children affected by the HIV virus.

Sunday, 29th Medstead Annual Parish Meeting
All residents of the Parish and members of the congregation are welcome to attend our annual Parish meeting.

Responsibility for running and maintaining the Church is delegated to Churchwardens and the Parochial Church Council (PCC). At the Annual Parochial Church Meeting the PCC present their annual report and Churchwardens and members of the PCC are elected.

Anyone on the Electoral Roll is eligible to vote. If you would like to nominate someone to be a Churchwarden for the year, or a member of the PCC or to fill vacancies on the Deanery Synod, then nomination forms are available. Please contact one of the Churchwardens.

Saturday, 2nd Benefice Family Rogation Walk
This year we have planned a special Rogation Walk. The Bishop of Winchester will join us as we walk the benefice on a circular route, starting and ending at Medstead, via Shalden, Lasham and Bentworth.

Our benefice pilgrimage will take in breakfast at St. Andrew's, arriving in Shalden for coffee, Lasham for lunch at the Royal Oak and Bentworth for cream tea, before arriving back at Medstead.

You may choose either to walk the whole route, or join in between any two or more churches. Sadly, the route is not suitable for pushchairs or buggies, so baby-carriers or shoulders will have to suffice!

The cost will be £5 per head or £10 for a family, to cover all meals, however many you have.

Application Forms - to help with the catering - are available here on this website, or from our benefice churches, Medstead and Bentworth Schools, the Rectory, Bentworth, The Sun Inn, The Star Inn or The Royal Oak.

The Earl and Countess of Portsmouth are kindly opening their 10 acre gardens at Farleigh House on behalf of CPRE Hampshire, a local charity campaigning to protect the Hampshire countryside.

There will be experts on hand to answer your gardening queries and garden tours by the head gardener. There will also be a garden quiz, a raffle full of wonderful local prizes and activities for children, so the whole family can come and enjoy the day!

There will be a variety of local produce stalls, including a range of nursery and plant stalls, gardenware, designer baskets, handmade floral greeting cards and much more.

CPRE will be selling refreshments on the day, including tea, coffee, soft drinks, locally picked fresh strawberries with cream and a stall packed full of a variety of delicious cakes.

Entrance will be £3 for adults, whilst under 12's go free!

Arena events include Stallions of Substance, the Princess of Wales Tigers Parachute Team, birds of prey, ferrets, Arab horses and sheep dog demonstrations.

Could you be Medstead's very own James Bond or Bond Girl?

The traditional, annual fund-raising Fête has a 007 theme this year, with prizes for the best Bond lookalikes and a 4-Bonds-4-A-Night auction for the services of the Fête Committee to cook you dinner!

There will be a grand parade, craft and trade stalls, bar and barbeque, tea and cakes, train and traction engine, free driving simulators for teenagers, dog show, grand draw and arena entertainment including dance, bands and displays, throughout the afternoon.

At our Casino Royale stall, in aid of St. Andrew's Church, there will also be a rare opportunity to purchase our sought-after, limited edition Medstead sweatshirts, as well as the return of our ever-popular Hook-A-Duck for children!

In aid of the Medstead over-60s Christmas Party which will be held on Sunday, January 6th, 2008.

The family walk, starting an hour later, will be about four miles in length, over a different off-road route. This shorter walk is for parents and children to enjoy our lovely countryside together.

A unique and, genuinely, not to be missed concert of folk and liturgical chanting in the tradition of northern Russia, by the Valaam Ensemble.

Formed in 1993 by five professional male singers, the Ensemble is dedicated to restoring the Valaam Monastery, a spiritual center for Russian Orthodoxy located on a group of islands in Lake Ladoga, northern Russia, which suffered considerable destruction during the Soviet regime.

During Posada the figures of Mary and Joseph from St. Andrew's Nativity display journey each night over Advent through Medstead, re-enacting their search for lodgings.

The idea is Mary and Joseph stay with a different family, or in a different place, every night, returning to our Church for the Crib Service on Christmas Eve.
