Current figures estimate that approximately 1,000
children a month are
abducted by the Lord's
Resistance Army (LRA), and abused into
becoming child
soldiers. To avoid these abductions,
35,000 children are
gravitating from their villages
at night, to towns like Kitgum, where they feel
less likely to be abducted. These children are known
as "night
commuters".
Please come to the Deanery Evening Service at St John’s Church, New Alresford, at 4:00 pm on
Sunday 11 February 2007 when Revd. David Keighley will tell us about his visit to Lango in November 2006 when he presented a vehicle from the Candover Valley Benefice to Bishop John Charles.
