A one hour Promenade Concert with The Waynflete Singers and Winchester Area State School children (Primary and Secondary) and Winchester Area Schools' Orchestra and Winchester Youth Concert Band.

The actor Timothy West will take the part of the narrator.

An exciting project arranged, edited and augmented by Professor David Owen Norris to introduce up to 500 local school children to the experience and joy of choral singing.

'New Creation' will be a choral concert based on Haydn's 'The Creation' arranged for large choir, choruses, three soloists, narrator and orchestra with some dramatic representation.

Widely acclaimed as one of England's premier amateur choirs with over 120 singers, The Waynflete Singers perform regularly in Winchester Cathedral, Hampshire.  The Choir has acquired an extensive repertoire ranging from early music to challenging late twentieth century works and has made several acclaimed CD recordings.   We have achieved a reputation for giving concerts to the highest professional standards using professional soloists and orchestras, enjoying strong links with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Florilegium.  [more about us .........]

In 2001 The Waynflete Singers joined the Bach Choir for the world premiere of Sir John Tavener's Song of the Cosmos at the BBC Proms.  The Waynflete Singers also performed in front of tens of thousands, both at the Queen's Official Golden Jubilee Celebrations in The Mall with the Bach Choir, and at the official 60th anniversary London commemorations of the ending of World War II [photos].
