D-Day, 6th June 1944 60 years on. Above are some views of the area of Normandy that saw such bitter fighting with the loss of so many young lives 60 years ago. As we commemorate the 60th anniversary of the start of the liberation of Europe from Nazi tyranny this month, it is right that we should reflect on the cost of that undertaking and how it changed the world we live in today. West End played it's part in this, the largest amphibious landing in history!
